The humble petition of 
William Quilliam of the town 
of Douglas.
Sheweth:  That William Creer of the said 
town of Douglas and Ann his 
wife sometime since departed 
this life having first duly made 
and published their last will 
and testament.
That the said William 
Creer and Ann his wife at the
time of their death were entitled 
to certain property in the said 
will mentioned.
That it is expedient
that some fit and proper
person should be appointed
administrator of the estate
and effects with the will
annexed of the said William
Creer and Ann his wife.
Wherefore your petitioner
prays a hearing of this pet’n
and that your Reverend
may be pleased to appoint
some fit and proper person
administrator and petr
will pray

ordered that this pet’n do come on to 
be heard at Douglas on Friday next
with notice to parties
given this 8th day of March 1841


In the name of God Amen.  
I Ann Creer wife of William Creer of the town 
of Douglas being thinking of the uncertainty of 
this mortal life do make this my last will and 
testament and with the consent of my husband 
said William Creer as followeth viz:
First I commit and commend my soul to Almighty 
God and my body to Christian burial as for the 
worldly goods that the Almighty hath blest me with 
I leave and bequeath as follows Item  I leave and 
bequeath unto my granddaughter Margaret Quilliam 
daughter of William Quilliam and Ann Joice the sum 
of seventeen pounds British to be paid out of the 
money which is secured in the purchased lands belong-
ing to the late Edward Corkill of Ulican Kirk Braddan 
which cannot be recovered untill after the death of 
said Edward Corkill's mother and the said money to be 
laid out on interest untill the said Margaret Quilliam 
arrives at the age of twenty two years of age and if in 
case the said William Quilliam dies before his wife and 
said child Margaret,  then said money is to be equally
divided between said Margaret Quilliam and her mother 
And if in case said Margaret Quilliam and her mother 
died before said William Quilliams decease In that case 
the said money I leave and bequeath unto Thomas Kelly 
my sisters son and also I leave and bequeath unto the 
said Margaret Quilliam a feather bed, bolster, a pair of 
sheets, a painted chest, a pot, a silver teaspoon, two 
glass tumblers, and two chairs and a goblet and these articles to be for 
the sole use of said Margaret Quilliam when she arrives at 
age. Item I leave and  bequeath unto my daughter 
married to William Quilliam all my wearing apparel 
excepting a blue cloak and also a bed quilt to be for said Wm Quilliam's wife.
I leave one shilling legacy to each lawful claimer. Lastly 
I nominate leave order and appoint my loving 
husband William Creer to be whole and sole 
executor of all the rest of my worldly goods 
of all kinds and nature what soever and this I 
do declare to be my last will and testament 
this sixteen day of July One Thousand eight Hundred 
and Thirty One 1831.

At a Court holden at Douglas 12 March 1841.
Christopher Karran is sworn administrator 
in trust with the will annexed 
of Wm Creer and Ann Creer 
deceased to pay all their just 
debts and funeral expences so 
far forth as the goods extend 
and the law bind him and 
to return a true and perfect 
inventory of the said decease's 
estate and effects to the
Episcopal Registry when 
thereto lawfully required.
