The humble petition of
Edward Creer of Earey-jorah
in the Parish of Marown Farmer
Showeth
That your petitioner's wife Christian
Creer departed this life on the 27th day
of August 1876 intestate
That your petitioner is desirous
to obtain Administration of the Estate
and Effects of the said Christian Creer
deceased
Wherefore petitioner humbly prays
a hearing hereof and that your
Worship may be pleased to grant
administration of the Estate
and Effects of the said Christian
Creer deceased to you petitioner
and petitioner will ever pray to.

Declared that this petition do come to be heard at an Ecclesiastical
Court to be held a Douglas on Thursday the 28th day of
November 1878 at 10 o'Clock in the forenoon. Whereof all proper
parties and persons are to have due and lawful notice.

At an Ecclesiastical Court held at Douglas
on the 20th day of December 1878
Upon hearing this petition in the presence of the Parties or their Advocates and
It being proved that Christian Creer (petitioner's late wife)
of Eirey Jorah in the Parish of Marown on or about the 27th
day of August 1876 departed this life Intestate.
This court hath Decreed Edward Creer, of the
same place, her widower Administrator of All and Singular the personal Estate
and Effects of the said deceased by paying her just debts and funeral expenses so
far forth as the said Estate and Effects will extend and the law bind him and distributing the
residue thereof according to Law, and to return to the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese a full
true and perfect Inventory thereof with an accurate account of his administration
thereof when thereunto lawfully required; and to these ends he hath given pledges
namely Daniel Creer and Eirey Kelly
in the Parish of Marown and John Creer
of Eirey Kelly in the Parish of Marown who have
entered into and executed the usual Bond in the presence of the Court.
Decretum Est
Whereas the Ecclesiastical court of this Isle and Diocese of Sodor and Mann hath this day
granted Letters of Administration of the
personal Estate of Christian Creer
late of Eirey Jorah in the Parish of Marown
deceased to Edward Creer her Widower.
And Whereas, Daniel Creer of Eirey Kelly
in the Parish of Marown and John Creer
of Eirey Kelly in the Parish of Marown
have agreed to become Pledges for the due and faithful Administration of the said Estate by the
said Edward Creer according to Law.
Now Know all Men by these Presents that we the said Daniel
Creer and John Creer hereby bind and
oblige ourselves jointly and severally, and our Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by
these presents as pledges for the said Edward Creer
that he shall well and truly administer, all and singular, the Personal Estate and Effects
of the said deceased, according to Law. and in his default we bind ourselves, and each
of us, our Heirs Executors and Administrators, to be answerable and responsible for the whole
to the said Court and to all parties interested in the said Estate and Effects, or the administration
thereof, in the place and stead of the said Edward Creer
Witness our Subscriptions this 20th day of December in the Year of our Lord
One Thousand Eight Hundred and seventy eight.
