In the Goods of Esther Creer, Spinster, deceased.
To his Honor Sir James Gell Knight, Her Majesty's
First Deemster and a Judge of the said
Division.
The Humble petition
of Ellinor Creer of the
Town of Castletown
Spinster.
Sheweth as follows:-
1. Esther Creer late of Castletown, Spinster,
and sister of your petitioner departed this
life at Castletown aforesaid on the 2nd
day of August 1899 having first duly
made and published her last will and
testament dated the 11th day of April
1894 - whereof she appointed your
petitioner Executrix
2. It is necessary that the said will
should be proved.
3. The only next of kin of the said deceased
resident on this Isle are your petitioner,
Margaret Ellinn wife of Robert Kelly Kermode a
niece and Catherine wife of James Clague a cousin
wherefore your petitioner
humbly prays a hearing
hereof and that your
honor may be pleased to
grant probate of the said
Will of the said Esther
Creer deceased to your
petitioner and that your
Petitioner may have such
other relief as is meet and
she will pray

Ordered that this petition do come on to be
heard at a court to be holden at Castletown on
Saturday the 26th day of August 1899 at 3.30
o.clock afternoon whereof all proper parties and
persons are to have due and lawful notice.
Given at Castletown the 23rd day of August 1899.
This is the last will and testament
of me Esther Creer of Arbory Street in the
Town of Castletown Spinster I being of
sound mind memory and understanding at
the making hereof and revoking all wills
by me heretofore made.
I nominate and appoint my sister
Ellinor Creer to be Executrix of this my will.
After payment of my funeral and
testamentary expenses
I leave devise and bequeath to my said
sister Ellinor Creer the five small dwelling
houses garden and premises situate at the
upper or northwest end of Malew street in
the said town of Castletown absolutely
I leave devise and bequeath to Margaret Ellinn
the wife of Robert Kelly Kermode the sum
of Ten pounds and also my book case.
I leave devise and bequeath to John Thomas Creer
and Edward Creer sons of my deceased
brother William Creer the sum of ten pounds each.
I leave devise and bequeath to Lily Stowell the
daughter of James Stowell of the Crofts in
the said town of Castletown the sum of
ten pounds.
I leave devise and bequeath to the six children
of Robert Kelly Kermode and Margaret Ellinn Kermode
namely Margaret the wife of the Reverend Smith
Thomas Parr Wesleyan minister, Bertha Kermode,
Norah Kermode, William Kermode, Bertie Kermode
and Frederick Kermode the sum of ten
pounds each.
I leave devise and bequeath to Catherine
Clague (formerly Quilliam) the wife of
James Clague of Hope Street in the said
town of Castletown the sum of twenty
pounds.
I leave devise and bequeath to Sarah Creer
widow of the late William Creer of the
Crofts in the said town of Castletown the
sum of five pounds.
I leave devise and bequeath to Meta Stewart-
Robertson of Edradynate Perthshire my
gold watch.
I leave devise and bequeath to the Wesleyan
Foreign Missions the sum of twenty pounds
I leave devise and bequeath to the Wesleyan
Home Missions the sum of twenty pounds
I leave devise and bequeath to the British
and Foreign Bible society the sum of
five pounds
I leave devise and bequeath to the British
Society for the propagation of the gospel
among the Jews the sum of five pounds
And with regard to such last
four bequests I do direct that the receipts
of the treasurers of the said missions and
societies for the time being shall be good
discharges for my Executrix
I leave devise and bequeath to my said
sister Ellinor Creer the whole of the residue
of my property of every kind and description
whatsoever and wherever the same may
be situate.
In witness whereof I have hereunto
subscribed my name the Eleventh day of
April in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety four.

will and testament in
our presence who in her
presence and in presence Esther Creer
of each other have
hereunto subscribed our
names as witnesses.

The annexed paper writing dated
the 11th day of April 1894 having
been proved to be the last will and
testament of Esther Creer late of
Arbory Street in the town of Castletown
spinster deceased who died on the
2nd day of august 1899 Ellinor
Creer of the Crofts in the said Town
of Castletown spinster a sister of
the testatrix the Executrix herein named
is sworn well and truly to fulfil and
execute the same and to administer
the personal estate of the said
deceased according to Laws.
